Offering seventeen double rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, guests can rest easily. Rooms are well equipped with soft linen, side lamps and a stylish interior. A delicious breakfast is served each morning and afternoon snacks can be discovered just across the road at the local Spar.

Mount Frere is a small town in the Eastern Cape, northeast of Mthatha, and is home to the Bhaca, Hlubi and Mpondo people, a division of the Xhosa, and is one of the most rural communities in South Africa.

Second World Bed and Breakfast in Mount Frere Reviewed by Mark Weeks, Portugal on . This is a poor, remote town that we used as a journey-breaker. The room was clean and had the standard facilities, however we felt a touch insecure generally and this was not helped when an employee knocked on our door asking for money - not much, but enough to make us feel that we could not safely leave the room for the evening. Probably we were a touch paranoid but the place did not help us feel at ease. We would stay at Mthatha next time.
