Bairro de Pescadores is an idyllic traditional fishing village located on Costa de Sol, approximately 12 km northeast of Maputo city centre. The lifestyle here is very laid-back, and activities are more related to weather and tide rather than time. The vast, beautiful beach is mainly used by fishermen landing the catch of the day, and mamas taking it to the local market. Restaurant Costa do Sol, famous for its LM Prawns, and a modern shopping centre are only 2 km away.

CasaKasa Pescadores is a new beach house situated just on the outskirts of Bairro de Pescadores. Privacy on the one-and-a-half acre plot is secured with traditional vegetation, and the garden consists of fruit trees such as mango, various citrus trees and papaya. Ducks, chicken, turkeys and gees also walk freely around.

The house features a covered external kitchen and barbecue facilities, as well as plenty of room for entertaining. There is also an outdoor shower to get sand off feet after walks on the beach. The main house comprises three bedrooms, all air-conditioned, and there is further a well-equipped modern kitchen and bathroom.

Upstairs in the main house is a 30 square metre terrace with a stunning view of the beach and the islands of Xefina and Inhaca. The terrace has a thatched roof, and canvas roller shutters protect in case of bad weather. This is back to basics in the true sense of ecological lifestyle, though without compromising the comfort of modern living.

CasaKasa - Pescadores in Maputo Reviewed by Bridget Albone, England on . Nice and peaceful. Unfortunately a bit hard to find, especially as kiosk Nelson wasn't there, would love to go back. It was nice and clean the kitchen fully equipped. It was great for bird watching and had a beautiful view of the sea. The owner, Stephan, was friendly and helpful. A great place, so near to the city.
