Birdhaven is a well-appointed and spacious garden flat that is very private and ideally located in Umtentweni. Umtentweni is conveniently situated only 2 km from Port Shepstone, 10 km from Shelly Shopping Centre, 17 km from Margate the South Coast’s premier resort, and an hour's drive from Durban. Birdhaven is a mere three minute drive from the main Tweni Beach, village shops, and excellent local restaurants.
The garden flat comprises a bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, a separate kitchen, and a large open-plan lounge, study and dining area. The large bedroom features a queen-size bed, and a sitting area with a comfortable couch and coffee table. There is also a vanity table next to a large mirror with a power point. The en suite features a shower, toilet, and a wall basin, and is accessed through a dressing area with wardrobes. All linen is supplied.
The extremely well-equipped kitchen includes a stove, microwave, fridge-freezer, and all necessary accessories, crockery and cutlery. The lounge is very comfortable with a sleeper couch, easy chairs, and a coffee table. There is a flat-screen TV with DStv, a DVD player, and DVDs. Sliding doors lead from the lounge directly to a patio and braai area.
Birdhaven is set in a superb large garden with gas braai, table and chairs at the sparkling pool. It is very secure, behind large walls and electronic gates. Our four well-behaved dogs also have use the garden but are kept to a restricted area when visitors are here.
There are several restaurants and bars close by and the village of Umtentweni also has a post office, petrol station, Quick Spar and other shops.
A wooden deck under shade runs the length of the flat overlooking the gardens and pool. There are comfortable relaxing garden chairs and dining table and six chairs for al fresco dining. The garden and pool area are floodlit at night. There is a large gas braai by the pool. There is also another patio accessed from the lounge through sliding doors with seating and charcoal braais.
An additional en-suite double bedroom only a few metres from the main flat is available if required. Birdhaven can comfortably host four adults and two children or five adults.
