Areena Riverside Resort & Private Game Reserve is situated 23 km from East London on the Wild Coast, along the banks of the unspoilt tidal river in the area, the Kwelera River. This holiday resort offers the sanctity of peace and nature, an oasis in the madness of life, a place to soak up the tranquility and prepare for a new week or a new year ahead.

Areena specializes in providing prime caravan and camp sites, as well as luxury cottages, conference facilities, team building and adventure sports right on the waters edge, with unsurpassed views of the river. Cruises to the river mouth and beach can be arranged, and you can even park your boat along the jetty directly in front of you. All our sites have electricity, are level and very spacious with taps between sites.

Areena Quays Restaurant and Pub serves a wide variety of scrumptious meals alongside the slipway. Areena Resort is in the centre of the newest S.A. tourist destination, the Jikeleza Wild Coast Route, which is at the southern gateway to the Wild Coast, place of many tidal rivers with world-class open beaches. Home to the Areena Game Park with its diverse and abundant game giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, ostrich and many antelope varieties.

Also hosting the Areena Adventure and Leisure Village, where one can abseil, play paintball, enjoy a quad bike game drive or canoe trail. Our abseil site is a 55 m drop, the highest and safest in the area. There are restaurants, shops, butchery, bottle store etc 4 km away. Top class golf courses, or for anything else one might need, town is just a short hop away.
