South African Beach And City Accommodation
Paradise Beach Lodge in Pomene Bay
Description |
|
Come relax and enjoy this piece of heaven at Paradise Beach Lodge, which is situated on the Indian Ocean coastline of Mozambique on the North Bank of Pomene. The idyllic location allows for a rustic, yet luxurious, care-free self-catering holiday.
The luxuriously appointed thatched lodges offer elegance and simplicity. All the bedrooms at Paradise Beach Lodge have two twin beds or one king-size bed and are equipped with mosquito nets and linen. All units have en-suite bathrooms and are located within 20 m of the estuary. The kitchens are fully-equipped with cutlery, crockery, freezers and gas stoves, together with barbecue areas. Just bring your food and beach towels.
Each lodge has a fully trained staff member to clean, wash and assist you with food preparation; no request is too small or too big for them. Our Eight-sleeper Units comprise four en-suite bedrooms which allow for extra beds should a family have small children. Four families can stay in these units and still maintain their privacy while holidaying together. All rooms are interlinked with wooden walkways. The Four-sleeper Units comprise two en-suite bedrooms interlinked by the lounge and dining room for families who want children close at hand or two families wanting to maintain privacy while holidaying together.
At Paradise Beach Lodge we have put as much thought as possible into respecting each guest’s privacy and needs. The diversity of location which is set on the banks of a salt water estuary, with its white beaches and crystal clear water, host a magnificent array of fish, dolphins and flocks of flamingos. Shallow and deep water reefs reveal beautiful creatures such as leather back turtles, sailfish and manta ray. Most importantly, it is the one of the sites in the world where the near-extinct dugong is still found. As we are situated on the estuary within 100 m of the mouth, the best of both worlds is available. On the day you arrive, you put your boat in the estuary and this is where it remains safe and secure until the day you leave - no need to take it out on a daily basis.
The best fishing to be had is between October and June, although no boat has come in empty handed as yet. Species likely to be encountered are King and Queen mackerel, Queen fish, wahoo, Ignobilis Kingfish to name just a few, with tuna, sail fish and the occasional marlin. Miles and miles of beaches await your spoon, with Cuta being caught in the estuary and many a Kingfish in the mouth, to name just a few. Our diving areas are considered by some as the best dive sites in the world. The variety of marine life is amazing. Within 22 km we have 12 regular dive sites to be explored. Hobies and smaller yachts are well at home in the estuary.
In addition, the beach at Pomene offers some ideal surfing and can be enjoyed by all, or bring your snorkels as the estuary has many a hidden treasure and is safe for children to swim or snorkel. Do not forget to bring a lilo; the estuary is so still at low tide that one can lie in peace with the crystal clear water lapping the edges and keeping one cool. |
