Bongwe Safaris - Kafue Camp offers guests a four-day stay in rustic and secluded thatched chalets on the Kafue River. Guests have a choice of staying in one of five chalets that are furnished with comfortable twin beds and mosquito nets. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom that consists of a shower only and the windows are covered with gauze to keep out any unwanted visitors. All the chalets have a view of the river and the gentle rapids of the river and the sounds of a hippo, lion and hyena can be heard.
The camp has a communal thatched lounge and dining area where guests can relax. The full time chef will provide a variety of hearty meals to suit all and picnic lunches and brunches are also available. Tea and coffee as well as fresh juice and water is available - so is a cash bar for those that want something a little stronger. Thatched lapas can also be found on the banks of the river for those that want to get away for a while.
Great game management in the area has resulted in prolific wildlife and predator sightings are common place. The Kafue is a true haven of wilderness with not another boat, vehicle or human in sight. Bongwe Safaris - Kafue Camp offers a safari the way safaris are meant to be; truly wild with plenty of wildlife, completely remote and affordable to everyone.
Rates include at least 7 hours a day of game viewing. On game drives, night drives and walking safaris. This also includes all food and accommodation and park fees and levies. We do offer a minimal bar, but guests can bring their own wine at no extra cost.
