Balerno Bush Lodge is an affordable self-catering destination ideal for small groups and families. This rustic self-catering venue is nestled between sandstone hills in the mopane bushveld, north of the Soutpansberg and situated next to the Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site. Balerno Bush Lodge is just 120 minutes by tarred road from Polokwane, 50 km from Alldays, and 10 km from the Limpopo River.

The lodge offers thatched-roof accommodation for up to 12 people, or 16 if required. The lodge comprises six luxury bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a large, comfortable open-plan lounge and farm kitchen, and a thatched-roof lapa. The kitchen is fully equipped with all eating and cooking utensils, including fridges and freezers, a wood stove, a gas stove, and a huge wooden table with a wording area. DStv is also provided. The lapa includes a huge wooden 12-seater table, a leadwood bar counter with bar stools, an undercover and outside braai, a fireplace inside the boma, and a splash pool in the rocks.

Other attractions at Balerno Bush Lodge include bush walks in the unique sandstone hills, bird-watching, brilliant photographic opportunities, archaeological sites, and San bushmen rock art sites. Attractions in the vicinity include visits to Mapumgubwe National Park, wild dog tracking, visits to the Crocodile Farm, and views of the Shashe and Limpopo River Confluence.
