Description
Ekukhuleni Game Farm is situated in the foothills of the Magaliesburg mountains, on the Magalies Meander near Hekpoort. The peaceful game farm environment provides scenic walks, game viewing and excellent birding opportunities, as well as grand mountain views. This location, only an hour away from Johannesburg, Pretoria and Rustenburg, is ideal for that perfect getaway.

The farm offers four secluded, fully equipped one- and two-bedroom self-catering cottages set in a tranquil natural bush setting. Each cottage features a covered verandah with a built in barbecue and well equipped kitchen with the necessary crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, as well as a gas stove and microwave oven. All linen and bath towels are provided but guests should bring their own swimming towels.

A salt-water swimming pool is situated in the picturesque garden and the farm hosts nyala, impala, blesbuck, zebra, kudu and Black gnu. Frequent visitors include warthogs, small Spotted genets, Black-backed jackal, duiker, bush-babies, and mongoose.

We are also situated in close proximity to the Cradle of Humankind; explore the Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng which offers a world-class underground attraction, taking you on a journey of discovery through the history of humankind. Other interesting sites and activities in the area include balloon safaris, game drives with the Big 5 and an Elephant Experience at a nearby game lodge, fly-fishing at an eco-friendly venue, and several restaurants and spas.

Alternatively, relax next to the pool or picnic in the shade of the riverine forest where the Doornspruit meanders through Ekukhuleni. Birders will enjoy ticking, and adding to, the 155 species already identified on Ekukhuleni.
