This beautiful destination combines the peace and serenity of the vineyards with an award-winning winery and an 18-hole championship golf course. Accommodation comprises 24 en-suite rooms. The hotel buildings, the Manor House, Jonkershuis and the Barn, have been declared National Monuments and were lovingly restored and decorated with traditional antiques in an elegant 17th-century style. Our Premier Rooms are modern with open-plan spaces, and feature romantic patios with vineyard or golf course views.

Upon entering Catharina’s Restaurant, one basks in the immediate attention of welcoming restaurant staff who discreetly pamper guests throughout their meals. Inventive and talented Executive Chef Garth Almazan’s cuisine epitomizes sophisticated contemporary South African cuisine. The restaurant received the American Express Platinum Award for fine dining in 2005 and a 5 Star grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

The ambience at The Spa at Steenberg is earthy and relaxing. Each treatment room is spacious and comfortable, encapsulating the essence of well being. The serene setting and the gentle yet powerful energy radiating from the Steenberg Mountains, add to the special aura. A multi-faceted therapeutic service is on offer.

A championship 18-hole golf course designed by Peter Matkovitch surrounds the hotel. Special green fee rates are extended to hotel guests. The course was designed to make full use of natural features and hazards. Its environmental diversity gives the course its unique character.

Steenberg is the oldest wine farm in the Constantia Valley, one of South Africa's premier wine growing regions. The two flagship wines, Sauvignon Blanc Reserve and Catharina’s, a red Bordeaux blend, have won many acclaims under winemaker John Loubser's excellent guidance. Steenberg provides a great wine estate alternative located close to the city centre, in a scenic setting with mountains as a backdrop.
