We are a proudly AA Highly Recommended TGCSA 3-star accommodation establishment and member of FEDHASA, TEP and an accredited member of Namaqua West Coast Tourism. Guests can be assured of spotlessly clean units, fresh, crisp-clean bed linen and towels, affordable rates and fully equipped units to make your experience a home-away-from-home.

Van Eeden Accommodation is well known for its clean, comfortable, well-maintained units at affordable tariffs. We are situated approximately 400 m from the beach and tidal pool. There is safe off-street parking for guest vehicles.

We have three fully equipped, self-service units each with its own braai and entrance. This adds to the privacy and home experience. Skulpies can accommodate six people plus a baby. Galjoen can accommodate four persons and Anex can accommodate two persons. Additional services offered are cleaning services, babysitting, and fax and copy facilities.

We, Pieter and Henda, feel that visitors and tourists to the area are important and we welcome you with open arms. Come to Strandfontein, the Jewel of the West Coast, and enjoy West Coast hospitality at its best.

Bring along a camera, a video camera, binoculars, a good book on the flowers of Namaqualand, a sun hat, sunblock, and an emergency kit. Come and enjoy Matzikama, a world of contrasts.

Strandfontein is a holiday destination with exceptional coast lines and sunsets. The area has clean beaches and is a safe environment, so beach walks at night are great. It is also an ideal overnight or getaway destination, especially for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life to relax and enjoy what the coastline has to offer.

Strandfontein has exceptional plant species on the cliffs and a labyrinth. Southern Right whales visit from May to November. Activities range from kayaking and swimming, to hiking and exploring the West Coast crayfish trail. There are also other exiting activities such as fishing, surfing, paragliding, river rafting, stargazing, 4x4 trails, the Flamingo Bird Route, and Namaqualand flowers in season.

Strandfontein is centrally situated for the guests who want to visit Vredendal, Klawer Wine Cellars, Birdfield wine tasting, San Rock art and river rafting, Lambertsbay, Vanrhynsdorp, Gifberg Waterfall, Maskam hiking trails, Old Goal, Van Rhyn museum, Koekenaap, achaelogical walking trails, and Nieuwoudtville.
