Matjiesvlei Cottages are situated in Matjiesvlei, at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountain Range, only 16 kilometer from Calitzdorp on Route 62. Along with the mixed farming activities, the valley provides a tranquil atmosphere.
Matjiesvlei Cottages offers guests a choice of staying in one of two units, which are restored historical Klein Karoo cottages; Die Bokwagtershuis and Die Stalle / The Stables. Also located on the farm is two other cottages, the Matjiesvlei Cottages: Middelplaas and Skuur.
Die Bokwagtershuis and Die Stalle / The Stables are equipped self-catering holiday homes and all linen, including towels, are provided. The kitchens are equipped with the necessary utensils to make your stay a relaxing one. You will find cutlery, crockery, kettles, toasters, microwaves and fridge-freezers. Die Bokwagtershuis has a stove, and Die Stalle has a two-plate on-counter stove on the stoep. The cottages have splendid views on the mountains and the veld.
Calitzdorp has a number of eating establishments, a good butchery, the Calitzdorp Slagtery, and various shops where basic groceries can be bought. |
