South African Beach And City Accommodation
Post House in Raithby
Description |
|
Post House B&B is situated in the winelands between the historic town of Stellenbosch and Somerset West. We offer two double rooms, both en-suite, a sitting room with TV, and a verandah with mountain views. There is also a big farm dam stocked with trout. Enjoy a complimentary wine tasting of Post House wines conducted by the winemaker Nick Gebers, who together with his wife Tracy and their children, will give you a warm and friendly welcome.
Enjoy walking through vineyards or hiking in the surrounding beautiful mountains, a round of golf at nearby courses, swimming or surfing at the stunning Strand beach, or the quaint fishing and sailing port of Gordon's Bay just 25 minutes away. We are located in the heart of the winelands, thus making Post House the ideal base from which to explore famous wine estates and farms, and discover wonderful restaurants such as 96 Winery Road and La Auberge.
We offer bed and breakfast accommodation in a cottage surrounded by vineyards and gardens. The Rose Room features a double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, and small kitchenette. The Lavender Room comprises two single beds, an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, and small kitchenette. All rooms boast Oregon wood floors, all linen is provided, and kitchenettes are equipped with a fridge, kettle, toaster, and cutlery and crockery.
Breakfast can be enjoyed either in the private gardens, on the verandah, or in the cosy lounge in winter. In winter, enjoy the warmth of the fire, underfloor heating and heated towel rail in the bathrooms, and heated wall panels in all the rooms. A laundry service is also available on request.
Although the cellar only produces a small quantity of wine, the hands-on and conscientious approach at each step, from the growing and harvesting of the grapes through to unification, bottling, and packaging makes the wines unique. With the ability to be creative the whole wine package is fine-tuned. The objective is to interfere as little as possible in the creation of the wine making process. This means that the grapes are handled as gently as possible. We offer guests complimentary wine tasting of Post House wines from grapes grown on our farm. |
