Description
Top Spot consists of two self-catering cottages set on ClanHarry Farm, at Curry’s Post in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Top Spot is located on the popular Midlands Meander route, and is just 17 km or 20 minutes from Howick, which has good shopping facilities, and is famous for its waterfall. It is also close to Midmar Dam.
ClanHarry Farm is located on the top of a hill and has the most awesome views of the Drakensberg, Midmar dam and the rolling Midlands landscape in the foothills of the Drakensberg. The new cottages are luxury at good value, and you will love the mix of modern comforts and the natural beauty.
Each cottage consists of an open plan living and dining area, bedroom and kitchen. The bedroom contains either a king-size bed or twin single beds. Each bathroom is private with a bath and shower facility. Each modern kitchen is fully equipped with granite tops, a fridge-freezer, microwave, and good appliances. A fireplace or underfloor heating will keep you warm on a cold wintry night. A flat-screen TV with full DStv is provided. Undercover parking, and a veranda for outdoor leisure and braaiing. The two cottages can be booked as a single venue, with a walk-through enclosed passage. Children under 10 are accommodated on a mattress or sleeper couch.
With indemnities and supervision the kids can milk the cows, collect eggs from the chickens, and canoe on the small dam if water levels permit.
There are plenty of activities in the surrounding area to keep you busy including hiking trails, mountain bike trails, canopy tours, and golf among others.

Top Spot in Currys Post Reviewed by Jody Fabre, South Africa on . This really is a "Top" SpotBooking online for a place we hadn't stayed before was a bit daunting and we really didn't know what to expect. But we were well pleased and impressed with our choice. The accommodation was "Top" class and is suitably furnished with quality furniture and appliances. Fresh farm milk was a bonus and added to the whole experience. We unfortunately only stayed for one night. But we will be back.
Top Spot in Currys Post Reviewed by Judith Conlin, South Africa on . A heavenly break from the rat race
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend break at Top Spot. Our hosts Rose & Des Thornton could not have been more welcome & accommodating, even to the extent of helping to push start our car on the morning of departure, and also phoning for help from friends of theirs.

Thankfully the car eventually started, so we were able to vacate before the new guests started arriving.

The chalets are beautifully fitted out, very comfortable & warm (we so enjoyed sitting by a real log fire!). The fresh farm milk in the fridge was such a bonus, and a unique extra touch for us city dwellers. The beds have good firm mattresses & plenty of bedding to keep us warm during these very cold nights.

The views all around are awesome, with the sunset & sunrise a beauty to behold.

We are looking forward to our next visit which hopefully will be for more than 1 night, so that we can explore more of the Midlands area.

Rose & Des, thankyou so much for looking after us like royalty, and for your many checks on our progress back to Durban in our "sick" car. Five stars is not enough!!!

God bless.
